Transparency and due diligence

Transparent by design.
Verifiable in practice.

Trust requires more than a compelling mission. This page distinguishes the current initiative from the charitable program it is working to establish and identifies the controls required before funds or applications are accepted.

Planning stageNo donations, sponsor payments or relief applications are being accepted through this website.

Current organizational status

Operating reality must remain aligned with every public claim.

Hospitality Relief Network does not currently represent itself as a tax-exempt public charity. A qualified charitable administrator or fiscal sponsor has not yet been selected or announced.

Charitable status

Pending. The final legal and administrative structure must be documented before fundraising begins.

Donations

Not open. The website does not collect payment details or issue charitable gift receipts.

Relief applications

Not open. Medical, financial, identity and hardship documents are not being accepted.

Partnerships

Planning inquiries are being accepted. An inquiry is not a sponsorship, endorsement or financial commitment.

Workforce and hardship context

Public evidence behind the need.

Hospitality Relief Network uses primary national sources to describe the size of the workforce and the emergencies affecting American households. Unless expressly stated, these figures are not hospitality-specific and should not be interpreted as projected applications or grant demand.

Proposed workforce scope

Accommodation and food service, with final eligibility still subject to approval.

The initial program design is being evaluated around employers broadly classified within NAICS 721, Accommodation, and NAICS 722, Food Services and Drinking Places. That framework preserves the network's hotel foundation while creating a responsible path to include restaurant employees and employers. The administering charitable organization will approve the final covered employer types, employment requirements and geographic scope before applications open.

Accountability during formation

Who is responsible for organizing the initiative.

Hotel operator and InnBrief publisher Michael Storm initiated the concept and is organizing discussions with employers, vendors and prospective charitable advisers.

InnBrief is the founding media and intelligence partner. Its proposed role is limited to industry communication and aggregate program reporting. It will not hold charitable funds, review private applications or select grant recipients.

Leadership, board or committee positions will not be published until the people involved have accepted defined responsibilities.

Institutional readiness

Required before donations or applications can open.

Each requirement must be completed, documented and approved by the party with appropriate authority and professional responsibility.

1

Administration

A written agreement with a qualified charitable administrator or an established governing organization.

2

Grant policy

Published eligibility, documentation, review, approval, payment and appeal procedures.

3

Financial controls

Dedicated accounts, approval authority, restricted-fund accounting, reconciliation and reporting procedures.

4

Privacy and security

Approved collection, access, retention, deletion, breach-response and vendor standards.

5

Conflict controls

Written disclosure, recusal and related-party review requirements for organizers, advisers and vendors.

6

Opening reserve

A documented funding threshold that supports responsible grant commitments and operating continuity.

Financial and decision authority

Relief funding and grant decisions must remain independent from fundraising influence.

The final structure will be approved by the administering charitable organization. The intended controls are listed here so prospective partners can evaluate the model before making a commitment.

  • Employee participation does not affect grant eligibility
  • Employers and sponsors do not select recipients
  • Applicant information is not shared for marketing or sales
  • Restricted funds are tracked separately from approved operating support
  • Related-party services require disclosure and independent approval
  • Financial and program results are reported in aggregate

Public due-diligence record

Institutional trust should be supported by documents, not marketing language.

As the program is established, this page will identify the administering organization and link to the documents visitors need to evaluate the program.

  • Administering organization name, address and tax identification information
  • Approved grant eligibility and decision procedures
  • Privacy, security and records-retention policies
  • Conflict-of-interest and related-party transaction policy
  • Sponsor recognition and data-access rules
  • Annual financial and aggregate program reporting

Request due-diligence information.

Hotel and restaurant employers, ownership groups, vendors and prospective advisers may submit governance, financial or operating questions before deciding whether to participate.
